In this interview, Susanna, who is a quarter Saami, and lives in London talks to her cousin Timimie, who lives in Sweden. Timimie is very involved with the Saami culture and it is important for her to keep her roots. She writes and translates poems in Ule Saami, English and Swedish. Timimie talks about the poor or rather false representation that Saami people have and the prejudices they face. These prejudices are sometimes not conscious and sometimes very hard to tackle.
On the other hand, Susanna does not speak Saami and has rear connections with the Saami culture. She talks about the memory of curiosity from their childhood, when they were wondering whether people know they, Saami people, exist.
Susanna and Timimie discuss their sometimes very similar or at other times slightly different views and feelings about their heritage and the challenges that this hidden culture bears in itself.
