Polish Group Logbook – Day 2

In the early morning, we were inspired by Dieter Deswarte (an independent filmmaker) and some amazing video clips and useful advice on what makes a good documentary film. We were advised to focus on a storyline using different approaches. And finding a character who we could feel a personal attachment to will strengthen what you try to convey. In terms of filming techniques, planning shots, sequence and scenes will allow audiences to follow what is going on effortlessly. Later, we had another skill session about making a collage, which proved to be of immense help to the work we did in the late afternoon.

We were more than excited in the afternoon about having other two new teammates, which makes our team stronger and more confident with the coming missions. After we had a bit review about Polish letter pronunciation and simple greeting dialogues, we made progress on how to pronounce numbers in Polish and gender features of Polish nouns and adjectives. The practice our Polish teacher employed was informative as well as fun, we learned the basic geography of Poland and the pronunciations of the main regions and cities.

We then spent two hours on our collage making and it was great fun. Everyone was working with each other and actively offering opinions about the structure and the representation of different objects mentioned in the poem. We felt proud of what we had achieved collaboratively today and look forward to our new mission tomorrow.
